Vetra is a highly experienced vocalist and kanklės (zither) player from Lithuania, currently based in Dublin with a fresh east-west, folk-modern blending sound.
Kanklės – the unique Lithuanian traditional instrument that she plays so well is a multi-stringed harp-type instrument. Having studied the instrument since she was 7, she mesmerizes crowds by singing and playing this instrument at the same time.
Having grown up in a musical family, Vetra has been a performer from an early age. From travelling around the world with her family’s folk band to performing in various music genres and art projects, she knows how to make each and every performance elegant and unique.
With two decades of singing experience, Vetra has a number of achievements to date, the most impressive being appearing on the world famous TV show “Vikings” – singing an enchanting funeral song in an old Norse language.
Vetra performs unique interpretations of various styles of songs – including traditional folk, contemporary pop, all-time classics accompanied by acoustic sounds of the kankles. Examples of set-list would include Fleetwood Mac – Dreams, Chris Isaak – Wicked Game, Cindy Lauper – Time after time, Elthon John – Your Song, Florence & The Machine – Shake it out etc. Vetra will also happily learn any special songs that you would like to have included on the day, to make your wedding ceremony or reception unique and personal.
